Change Up! — Support
Change Up! is a cashier arcade game about making exact change fast. Everything you do stays on your device — so most questions have short answers, and anything else reaches a person directly.

Common questions
- How do I play? Each transaction shows a price on the register. Tap coins and notes from your wallet onto the tray to make up at least that amount, then hand it over — the customer returns change in the fewest pieces possible. You score on how close your payment came to the best change available from your wallet, plus a bonus for finishing early in the timer. A short guided tutorial plays the first time you open the game; you can replay it any time from HOW TO PLAY on the main menu.
- Why is the game always portrait / why does it show a narrow board on my tablet? Change Up! is designed as a portrait game. On a tablet or in a split-screen window it keeps the board portrait in the middle of the screen rather than stretching it; if the window is too small to fit the board, it says so and asks you to rotate or enlarge the window.
- Where is my progress? On your phone, and only there. There is no account and no cloud sync. Your Change Token balance, unlocked currencies and any in-progress run save automatically; uninstalling the app removes all of it.
- How do I move to a new phone? Change Up!‘s data rides along with your phone’s own backup (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android) — restore the backup on the new phone and your progress comes with it. There is no manual export or import.
- How do I unlock more currencies? Play rounds to earn Change Tokens, then spend them on the Currencies screen. Every currency costs the same, and there is no way to lose one once you have it.
- What do the timer colours mean? Green means you are well inside the transaction’s allowance, yellow means the window is closing, and red means you are on your last moments before it times out. Finishing in green or yellow earns a bigger timing bonus.
- My score didn’t appear on the leaderboard. Submitting is optional and needs a connection; it never affects your local score or progress. If the submit panel doesn’t appear at all on the results screen, this build has no leaderboard configured and the game is fully playable without it. If it appeared but failed, check your connection and try again from the same results screen.
- My nickname was refused. Nicknames are checked on your device against a built-in list of offensive words before they are sent. If an ordinary name is refused by mistake, pick another for now and email us the one that was blocked so the list can be fixed.
- Can I change or delete a nickname I submitted? There’s no self-service option in the app. Email us with the nickname, mode, currency and roughly when you submitted, and it will be removed.
- Is there a way to see how I could have made better change? Yes. On the results screen, tap any transaction to open it. You’ll see the pieces you were holding going into it, the ones you handed over, and — when the transaction wasn’t optimal — one payment that would have got you the fewest coins and notes back, with the differences highlighted. An optimal transaction shows no comparison, because there was nothing better to do. Where more than one payment is equally optimal, the game shows one of them, not “the” answer.
- Do I have to watch ads or pay to keep playing? No. Change Up! is free and every currency is earnable by playing. The rewarded ad is entirely optional, only ever grants bonus tokens, and is never shown automatically or between rounds. The one-time Unlock All purchase is optional too, for players who’d rather skip the grind.
- My purchase says “verifying”. After the store confirms a purchase, the app asks the developer’s server to double-check it with Apple or Google before unlocking. That normally takes a second. If the server can’t be reached, the store re-presents the purchase the next time you open the game and the check is retried automatically — you are never charged twice. If it stays stuck for more than a day, email us.
- My purchase didn’t go through, or I want to restore it. Use RESTORE PURCHASE on the CURRENCIES screen. If a confirmed purchase still isn’t reflected, email us with your order or receipt info from the App Store or Play Store — we never see your payment details, only a purchase confirmation, so the store’s own receipt is what we need to help.
- I got a new phone — do I have to buy Unlock All again? No. The purchase belongs to your App Store or Google Play account, not the handset. Install Change Up! on the new phone while signed into the same account and it re-applies itself; if it hasn’t, tap RESTORE PURCHASE on the CURRENCIES screen. You are never charged twice. (Change Tokens and currencies you unlocked by playing travel with your phone’s own backup instead — see “How do I move to a new phone?” above.)
- The “watch an ad” button disappeared. That’s deliberate, and it means you’re finished: once every currency is unlocked there is nothing left for Change Tokens to buy, so the app retires the token economy and stops offering ads entirely. It also won’t appear in builds with no ad network configured.
- Can I play offline? Yes. The whole game — both modes, every currency, saves and unlocks earned by playing — runs with no connection.
Privacy
The full privacy policy lives on its own page. The short version: your saves and progress stay on your device. What can leave it is a leaderboard score you explicitly choose to submit, and — only if you choose to watch a rewarded ad or make the optional purchase — the data those partners need to do that.
